WebEccleston is located in the county of Lancashire, North West England, three miles south-west of the town of Leyland, eight miles south of the major city of Preston, 151 miles north of Cardiff, 160 miles south of Edinburgh, and 184 miles north-west of London. Eccleston lies four miles north-west of the Greater Manchester border. WebIt stands some 100 metres (330 ft) southwest of the site occupied by its predecessors, which stood in what is known today as the Old Churchyard. A church was certainly in existence in Eccleston in 1188, and in the late 18th century a print was made of a dilapidated medieval church which dates back to the 14th century.
